Prof. Cherng-Yuan Lin, National Taiwan Ocean University

現任國立臺灣海洋大學輪機工程學系特聘教授。獲英國利物浦大學機械工程碩士、美國奧克拉荷馬大學航太暨機械工程博士。學術專長包括海洋污染防制政策與技術、海洋再生能源開發與應用、熱力學與流體力學、熱傳學、燃料與燃燒學、能源應用工程、生質能源、內燃機、動力廠系統、空氣污染防制技術與規劃、輪機工程等。陸續發表重要研究成果於國際知名期刊,包括Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Marine Policy, Ocean Engineering, Journal of Ship Research, Fuel, Applied Energy…等。曾擔任海洋法律與政策學院代理院長、國立臺灣海洋大學輪機工程學系系主任、海運暨管理學院院長、校務諮詢顧問、英國劍橋大學訪問教授、英國牛津大學訪問教授。自2006年起迄今擔任國際能源與燃料領域重要SCI期刊Fuel (Impact Factor 5.578)的國內唯一編輯委員、全球第四大open access publisher: Frontiers Media S.A.出版的Frontiers in Energy Research (Impact Factor 2.746)於Bioenergy領域的副主編(Associate Editor)、MDPI 公司出版Processes (Impact Factor 2.753) 期刊的客座主編(Guest Editor)與Gases期刊的編輯委員、經濟部標檢局化工類國家標準技術委員、中華民國燃燒學會理事/常務監事(2002年起迄今)、臺灣深層海水資源利用學會創會理事(2013年-2018)等。多年來率領跨校(包括海大、臺大、清大、交大、中興、北科大、雲科大、宜大、、、)研究團隊執行政府機構或民營企業委託研究計畫,為永續發展政策的擬訂與產業技術的提昇,作出重要貢獻。2017年7月因長期投注於海洋污染防制、生質燃料與柴油引擎特性等跨領域研究的顯著國際成就,榮獲Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award (馬奎斯世界名人錄終身成就獎)。

Dr. Cherng-Yuan Lin earned an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, in July 2017.
An accomplished listee, Dr. Lin celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. The internal combustion engine may have found new life with the biodiesel research conducted by Dr. Lin at the National Taiwan Ocean University. Dr. Lin is a Distinguished Professor of Energy who has devoted 30 years to the study of maritime sciences, especially in the area of producing fuels from marine algae. Dr. Lin devoted to “Energy and Power Plants” studies at the School of Engineering Science at the University of Liverpool in England and earned a Master degree in 1986 before completing his studies at the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a PhD in 1991. Dr. Lin was granted the chair of the marine engineering department in 1998. In 2005, Dr. Lin became the dean of the College of Maritime Science and Management at Keelung, and was awarded a Distinguished Professor of energy in 2010. Dr. Lin’s research is well documented in various papers, and he has conducted work at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge as a visiting scholar during 2008-2009 and 2003-2004, respectively. He is the associate editor of Frontiers in Energy Research (SCI, impact factor= 2.746) and a member of the editorial board of Fuel (SCI, impact factor= 5.748), and the Guest Editor of Processes (SCI, impact factor = 2.753).
